Foster Care Data
Of the 45 families that we have worked with in family connection 29 (64%) had homelessness as a factor when kids entered foster care.
Of the 16 (36%) that did not have homelessness as an orginal factor in kid’s being removed from the home- 2 of these families became homeless while we worked with them.
This represents 48 of the 75 total kids (64%) that we have worked with whose families were homelessness when they entered foster care.
Homeless and Poverty are currently the top reason that children are entering the foster care system in our community.
Finding affordable stable housing is the greatest barrier that parents face in bringing their children home successfully out of foster care.
